School Improvement

Careers SLEs

Due to the overwhelming success of our Specialist Leaders for Careers Education programme we are looking to recruit more Career Leads to join our team.

Working in partnership with Greater Manchester Combined Authority, our team of Careers SLEs have been inundated over the last 18 months with requests from schools across Greater Manchester for their support in helping them to provide the highest quality independent information, advice and guidance for their pupils.

What are the benefits of becoming a Careers SLE?

The SLE role has a number of benefits, including:

  • offering credible peer support rooted in current practice and drawing on real experience
  • the sharing and development of outstanding, innovative practice
  • a collaborative, coaching approach, which helps develop other Career Leads to ensure long-term, sustainable improvement
  • the opportunity for leaders to learn about different school contexts and systems
  • contributing to continuing professional development (CPD), enhancing leaders’ knowledge, skills and abilities in a variety of ways

Please note being an SLE is done in conjunction with your role in school. The support you offer to schools can be done virtually/face to face over half a day/full day. Support varies from school to school but is no more than 2 days in total.
